Les Difficiles de Petion-Ville - Ce la vie (1970)

Description
The group "Les Difficiles de Petion Ville" was established in 1966 by the maestro Henry Celestin and the guitarist Robert Martino in the city of Petion-Ville located not far to the south-east of the capital. Les Difficiles recorded their first album Cé La Vie in 1970, it will be the only one with Martino before he leaves the group to form a competing orchestra, Les Gypsies de Petion-Ville. Replaced by the virtuoso guitarist Eddye Woolie, Les Difficiles will record five more albums between 1970 and 1984 including the inevitable Barrière Jambé in 1973. We listen to the sweet melody of "Cé La Vie" which by its arrangements between joy and sadness is emblematic of the Haitian mentality, the hope pegged to the body despite difficult living conditions.
